How to Verify Salt Supplier Production Capacity and Lead Time

A supplier’s annual capacity figure does not by itself prove that your order can be produced on time. Usable line capacity, packing changeovers, seasonality and the existing order queue all affect real lead time.
Separate nominal from available capacity
Theoretical annual output is not the same as capacity available for a specific product and packaging format.
Ask about packing-line bottlenecks
For private-label and retail packs, packaging rather than production may determine lead time.
Identify peak seasons
Deicing demand or food-industry campaigns can tighten capacity during certain periods.
Request dated milestones at order confirmation
Production start, packing, QC and loading windows should be placed on a written schedule.
