Reference Sample and Pre-Shipment Sample Approval for Rock Salt

The first approved sample and the commercial production lot can be separated by time, packing changes or process variation. Buyers should therefore define exactly what a sample approval represents.
Identify the reference sample
Record product code, date, granulation and, where possible, the lot or production condition represented by the sample.
When is a pre-shipment sample useful?
For first private-label orders, custom packaging or critical specifications, a sample taken from production before shipment can add control.
Match the sample to the COA
Check whether the sample and analytical report represent the same lot.
Avoid purely subjective approval
Where practical, colour, grain size and packaging should be tied to measurable acceptance criteria.
